3D plant surveying of industrial furnaces

3D Plant Surveying & Laser Scanning for Industrial Facilities

Capture existing production plants, piping and infrastructure digitally – as the basis for retrofits, planning and as-built documentation.

We scan your existing plant on site, register and check the data and deliver the agreed documents: point cloud, 2D plans, 3D CAD or BIM model.

Do you have a specific requirement?Tell us what you need – we will get back to you within 24 hours and advise you in detail on possible solutions and suitable methods.

As-built

The actual state of your plant instead of outdated drawings.

E57 · STEP · IFC

Point cloud, 3D CAD or BIM model – matched to your planning.

24h

We offer fast communication & turnaround times.

AT · DE · EU

On site in Austria, Germany and internationally on request.

Applications of plant surveying

For measuring individual parts, machines and fixtures, see our industrial 3D laser surveying.

  • Brownfield planning: integrate new equipment into the existing plant
  • Retrofit & extension: know clearances and connection points exactly
  • Routing: capture piping, cable trays and steel structures
  • As-built documentation: update plant and factory documentation
  • Clash detection: check designs against the real plant
  • Factory surveying: halls, foundations and crane runways

Process: from capture to handover

  • Inquiry: plant, location, scope and required deliverables
  • Scoping: accuracy, coordinate system, data scope and on-site safety requirements
  • On-site capture: laser scanning of the plant, even during operation
  • Registration & quality check: merging the scans into a verified point cloud
  • Processing & handover: plans, CAD or BIM models in the agreed formats

Results & data formats

Point cloud

Registered point cloud as E57 or RCP – ready to use in Autodesk, Navisworks and plant design software.

2D plans

Floor plans, sections and layout drawings as DWG/DXF.

3D CAD

Equipment, piping and steel structures as solids in STEP (STP) or IGES (IGS) for your engineering.

BIM model

Buildings and plants as IFC or Revit models – learn more about Scan-to-BIM.

Frequently asked questions

If our FAQ does not answer your question, simply send us an inquiry, an e-mail or give us a call – we are happy to help.

How much does plant surveying cost?

The cost depends on the size and complexity of the plant, the required accuracy and the deliverables – a point cloud is delivered faster than a full CAD or BIM model. You receive a quote based on the project scope.

How accurate is plant surveying?

For large plants, accuracy is typically in the millimetre range. We agree on the requirements with you before the project starts.

Can you survey while the plant is running?

Yes. Laser scanning is contactless, so we can usually capture plants without a shutdown. We coordinate safety briefings and access times with you in advance.

How much lead time do you need?

Depending on scope and location, we are usually on site within a few days to weeks. Let us know your preferred date or planned shutdown windows in your inquiry.

How is sensitive data handled?

We treat our customers' data as strictly confidential – all data is hosted locally on our own backed-up systems (not in the cloud).

For data transfer, just tell us the method you prefer (e.g. your company's own cloud solution).

We are of course happy to sign an NDA if you wish.
