Size

We measure objects from just a few centimetres up to larger items.

Your partner for 3D component measurement

Our 3D scanners are among the most technologically advanced devices in the industrial sector. Thanks to contactless measurement, the component is captured gently. This makes the process particularly suitable for one-offs, industrial prototypes or parts for which no drawings exist.

Depending on their needs, customers can receive just the 3D file (often in STL format) to carry out their own comparisons or modelling. However, we also offer additional services such as creating technical drawings or modifying the design. Simply let us know your requirements.

3D measurement in quality control

At Scankraft we use state-of-the-art 3D scanning technology in quality control to ensure the highest precision and reliability in our products.

Our advanced 3D scanners capture every detail of our products and enable a comprehensive analysis that goes far beyond traditional measuring methods. This not only speeds up the quality inspection process but also allows us to detect and correct defects at an early stage. With Scankraft at your side, you can be confident of receiving products of the highest quality.

In addition, our 3D colour mapping gives you a quick overview of deviations from the CAD model.

Component 3D scan for reverse engineering

Component reverse engineering with scan to CAD

We will be glad to help you with the reverse engineering of parts and other components, converting our precise 3D scans into a CAD file that you can continue working with.

3D component measurement with colour mapping

Precise 3D component measurement

Is maximum precision on surfaces important to you? With our industrial 3D scanner we can scan your part to an accuracy of up to 0.005 mm.

For large objects of several cubic metres, the accuracy decreases slightly. We will be happy to calculate the achievable precision for you.

What is more, our detailed measurement with up to 1.86 million measuring points per second allows us to capture even the finest details of the component.

Geomagic Control X quality assurance

What are the benefits of measuring components with a 3D scanner?

Optical 3D measurement systems capture the geometry of components without contact, quickly and precisely.

Compared with conventional tactile measuring methods, they allow higher measuring speeds while offering greater accuracy and a higher information density. This means defects and deviations can be detected and corrected at an early stage, leading to improved product quality and greater process efficiency.

A key advantage of 3D scanning technology is that capture is completely contact-free, which makes the measurement particularly gentle on the object. This method is therefore especially suitable for capturing individual objects, such as industrial prototypes or older components for which no drawings exist. In general, 3D scanning is ideal for any touch-sensitive objects.

Frequently asked questions

If our FAQ does not answer your question, simply send us an inquiry, an e-mail or give us a call – we are happy to help.

How does a 3D scan work compared with tactile measuring methods?

3D measurement of components is based on laser scanning or optical capture with a structured-light scanner. This produces a large number of measuring points that together form a point cloud. As our devices come from the industrial sector, we achieve a precision of up to 0.005 mm. Noise and errors are removed and the resulting point cloud is converted into an STL model.

How accurate are our 3D component measurements?

Accuracy depends on the object, its size and the post-processing. We can achieve an accuracy of up to 0.005 mm – please contact us for an exact assessment of accuracy & resolution.

How much does 3D component measurement cost?

3D component measurement costs €149 per component scan. If you need several measurements or additional services, we will be happy to prepare a quote for you.

How is sensitive data handled?

We treat our customers' data as strictly confidential – all data is hosted locally on our own backed-up systems (not in the cloud).

For data transfer, just tell us the method you prefer (e.g. your company's own cloud solution).

We are of course happy to sign an NDA if you wish.
